David Braddock

Southwest Tech is proud to announce its upcoming graduation ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, May 14th, at 7:00 PM. The ceremony will take place at the Western Oklahoma State College gymnasium and will celebrate the achievements of over 130 students who have successfully completed their respective programs.

Keynote speaker for the evening will be esteemed community leader, David B. Braddock. Raised in Altus, Oklahoma, Braddock's journey from Altus High School graduate in 1975 to a prominent figure in Southwest Oklahoma exemplifies the spirit of dedication and achievement.

Braddock's commitment to his community is unparalleled. Elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives District 52 in 1996, he served the citizens of Jackson, Kiowa, and Greer counties until 2008. During his tenure, Braddock held multiple leadership roles, advocating for causes ranging from military support to education and law enforcement.

Beyond his legislative service, Braddock's impact extends to numerous organizations in the Altus area. He has been an integral part of the Altus Chamber of Commerce and the Military Affairs committees, serving as an Honorary Commander since 2010 and Vice Chairman since 2008. His contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Distinguished Citizen honor from Military Airlift Command in 1992.

Braddock's dedication to education is evident through his involvement with Southwest Technology Center. He played a pivotal role in securing resources for the Aviation Maintenance Program, demonstrating his commitment to advancing career and technical education in the region. As President of the Southwest Technology Center Foundation since 2013, Braddock has been instrumental in raising funds for adult student scholarships, ensuring that educational opportunities are accessible to all.

Currently engaged in insurance and real estate appraisals, Braddock continues to serve his community while balancing his professional responsibilities. He is married to Candace Braddock and is a proud father of three children: Adam, Rachel, and Beth.

The community is cordially invited to join us in celebrating the remarkable achievements of the Southwest Tech graduates as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
