Southwest Tech is proud to announce the Students of the Year for the 2023-2024 school year. These outstanding individuals have demonstrated exceptional dedication, resilience, and positivity, embodying the values and spirit of Southwest Tech.
The full-time Student of the Year is Carlee HySmith. Carlee exemplifies resilience and dedication as a student. Despite the challenges and excitement of a wonderful life event, she displayed remarkable determination by returning to SWTC and is driven by her commitment to completing her program on time. Not only does she excel academically, but her selfless nature shines through her willingness to assist her peers whenever needed, reflecting her outstanding character and commendable attitude towards learning and helping others. She is a member of National Technical Honor Society and is the Secretary for her SkillsUSA Chapter.
The part-time Student of the Year is Lexi Willis. Lexi embodies positivity and kindness, making her a standout candidate for Student of the Year. Since her arrival at Southwest Tech, Lexi has consistently brought joy and warmth to her surroundings, always wearing a smile on her face. Her polite and respectful demeanor creates a welcoming atmosphere for all, and she is known for her eagerness to lend a helping hand to her classmates. Like Carlee, Lexi is an active member of the National Technical Honor Society and serves as the Treasurer for her BPA Chapter.
