Southwest Technology Center is proud to announce James Schroyer, Aviation Maintenance Instructor, as the Employee of the Month for September 2024. Mr. Schroyer joined the Southwest Tech team in April 2024, following an impressive career as an instructor at Sheppard Air Force Base and dedicated service in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Schroyer has quickly become a valued asset to the Aviation Maintenance program, bringing his extensive experience and enthusiasm for aviation mechanics to both the classroom and hangar. His passion for teaching and dedication to his students have earned him high praise from both colleagues and students alike.
In his nomination, one colleague stated:
"The individual I’m nominating for SWTECH Employee of the Month joins our team with not only a solid background of work experience in the aviation field, he also has a passion to share his knowledge base with our students and coworkers. His passion drives his daily instruction, whether in the classroom setting or in the hangar where students apply the skills he has taught."
Mr. Schroyer’s energy and teaching style create an engaging learning environment where students stay attentive and inspired. He uses a variety of teaching methods, from hands-on tools and video demonstrations to immersive experiences in the hangar, ensuring his students understand the importance of quality aircraft maintenance. His ability to connect theory with practical application has made a significant impact on students eager to learn aviation mechanics.

Though new to Southwest Tech, Mr. Schroyer is not new to the field of aviation, and the Southwest Tech community is proud to have him on board. His dedication to student success and aviation mechanics makes him a standout educator, and we are grateful to recognize his contributions to the institution.
