BIS Advisory Board

Southwest Technology Center’s (SWTC) Business Development team recently held its biannual Advisory Board meeting, bringing together industry leaders and board members from across the district to discuss Southwest Tech’s ongoing improvements and growth strategies. Attendance was strong, with representatives from a wide range of industries engaging in discussions that will shape the future direction of the center’s programs and services.

Kerry Evans, SWTC’s Business Development Director, led the meeting, updating board members on key changes and enhancements implemented since the previous spring meeting. These updates were a direct result of suggestions provided by board members, demonstrating the value of their expertise and the center’s commitment to continuous improvement based on industry input.

“Our advisory boards are essential in helping us stay aligned with industry standards and evolving workforce needs,” said Evans. “The insights and recommendations shared by our board members guide our efforts to keep our programs relevant and impactful for students and the community.”

Advisory boards are central to SWTC’s planning process, as they provide vital insights that help the center adapt to industry changes, enhance program quality, and ensure students are well-prepared for the demands of the workforce. These biannual meetings reinforce the collaborative relationship between SWTC and the business community, helping to ensure that SWTC graduates have the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their chosen fields.
