Altus Fire/EMT Southwest Tech

Southwest Tech’s Metal Fabrication class, led by Instructor Monte Brown, proudly participated in the Altus Fire and EMT annual Coats for Kids community service project. This important initiative collects new and gently used coats as well as financial donations to distribute coats to children in need throughout Altus and the surrounding communities, helping them stay warm during the colder months.

The Metal Fabrication students have once again shown that their dedication goes

beyond the welding shop. Their involvement in this project demonstrates not only their craftsmanship but also their commitment to giving back. Under Monte Brown’s leadership, these students are learning the importance of community service and making a tangible difference in the lives of children in Southwest Oklahoma.

“We’re incredibly proud of our Metal Fabrication students for stepping up and supporting Coats for Kids again this year,” said Monte Brown. “They’re not just keeping the flames hot in the shop; they’re keeping their hearts warm by helping others.”

Southwest Tech extends gratitude to Altus Fire and Rescue for organizing this annual event and to the students for their hard work and generosity. Together, they’re ensuring that children in our community have the warmth they need this winter and holiday season.
