Southwest Technology Center (SWTC) in Altus, Oklahoma, offers a comprehensive Automotive Technology program designed to prepare students for successful careers in the automotive industry. In a significant advancement, SWTC is installing a new Electric Vehicle (EV) and Hybrid Vehicle lab this month. This state-of-the-art facility, funded by an Oklahoma Lottery grant, will provide students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the latest automotive technologies, particularly in the rapidly growing EV and hybrid sectors. This initiative reflects SWTC's commitment to equipping students with relevant skills that meet the evolving demands of the automotive industry.
The Automotive Technology program at SWTC offers flexible scheduling options to accommodate both high school students (FREE) and adults. High school students can enroll in a 2-year program, attending classes from 8:00 to 11:00 AM or 12:00 to 3:00 PM. Adult learners have the option of a full-time schedule lasting 1 year or a part-time schedule extending over 2 years, with classes available during the same time slots.
