Southwest Technology Center’s Business and Computer Technology program provides students with the essential skills needed for success in the modern workplace. Whether pursuing careers in business administration, digital marketing, web design, or customer service, students gain valuable experience through hands-on training and real-world applications.
One of the most inspiring aspects of the program is its strong tradition of success, exemplified by instructor Aracely Gonzales, a proud graduate of the very same program she now leads. Her firsthand experience as a former student brings a unique perspective to the classroom, allowing her to guide students with insight and passion.
In addition, two other Southwest Tech employees, Testing Liaison Teresa Johnston and Financial Aid Coordinator Monica Cox, are also graduates of the program, highlighting its lasting impact and the opportunities it creates for students in various career paths.
Work-Based Learning and Industry Connections
Students in the Business and Computer Technology program benefit from numerous work-based learning simulations, ensuring students graduate with a well-rounded skill set tailored to today’s job market.
Throughout the year, industry professionals from across the district visit with students multiple times to provide career insights, mentorship, and networking opportunities. These interactions help students make informed decisions about their future, connecting classroom learning with real-world expectations.
