The Southwest Technology Center's Entrepreneurship Program stands as a beacon for aspiring business innovators, offering a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum designed to transform visionary ideas into viable startups.

The program offers students hands-on experience in starting and managing their own businesses, covering key areas such as business planning, marketing strategies, financial management, and customer relations. Students work through real-world projects, developing their entrepreneurial skills while receiving guidance on how to turn their ideas into successful ventures.

A key highlight of the program is its focus on collaboration and practical learning. Students engage in business simulations, develop business plans, and present their ideas to panels of local business leaders. The curriculum is designed to foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving – essential skills for any aspiring entrepreneur.

Students in the program benefit from partnerships with local businesses and the Altus Chamber of Commerce, gaining valuable insights and networking opportunities. The Entrepreneurship Program also offers certifications such as the Certiport Small Business and Entrepreneurship certificate, enhancing students’ credentials as they enter the business world.

The program is led by Teresa Tierney, an instructor with extensive entrepreneurship and educational experience.
