Southwest Technology Center proudly recognizes 17 students who have successfully completed the Aviation Maintenance program, an intensive 18-month training course covering General, Airframe, and Powerplant certifications. This achievement marks a significant milestone in their journey toward becoming FAA-certified aviation maintenance professionals.

The students recently completed the final phase of the program, Powerplant, under the instruction of Nick Odom and Joe Schmitt. The Aviation Maintenance program at Southwest Tech is led by Joe Schmitt, Coordinator and Powerplant Instructor, alongside a team of experienced instructors: Larry Grimes, James Schroyer, and Nick Odom.

These graduates are now prepared to enter the workforce in a variety of aviation maintenance careers, including commercial and private aviation, aerospace manufacturing, and military aviation support roles. Their training has provided them with the critical skills needed to inspect, repair, and maintain aircraft systems, ensuring safety and efficiency in the aviation industry.

Joe Schmitt, Program Coordinator and Powerplant Instructor, commended the students, stating:
