Metal Fabrication held their annual In House Tournament last Tuesday. They competed building a steel house that consisted of welding 6010,7018, and MIG in various positions. They also had to cut shapes out with oxy-acetylene.

Safe Sitter Essentials® is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The class is filled with fun games and role playing exercises. Students get to use manikins to practice rescue skills!
Thursday, May 23, is National STOP THE BLEED® DAY! Starting at 8 AM, Southwest Tech will be teaching a class every hour, with the last class beginning at 3 PM. Learn how to stop life-threatening bleeding for FREE and in less than hour, you can be prepared to save someone's life!

Aviation "Spotlight" of the week, Hangar 33 Southwest Tech General curriculum students and Mr Chris Venegas getting out in the Hangar performing hands on Weight and Balance procedures on our Piper Arrow Aircraft. After several hours learning the importance of and completing these steps in the classroom it's always rewarding to get to work in the Hangar in real conditions. Go Team Aviation!!!
